You want a classical education, not a jazz class in pointe shoes. Melissa has been teaching children's dance since 2005. Placement is by age and ability, written into studio policy --- not a parent request. Folsom families typically make that decision based on Historic Sutter Street traffic and if 16–20 minutes works in the week.

Pointe when the body is ready
Pointe prep is built as a later step (we list ages 10+). Strength and placement come first.
Dress code is clear
Leotard, pink tights, slippers, hair up. Buy once; we will not surprise you with a new “required” shoe every month.
Pre-ballet for the little ones
Ages 2+ start with creative movement and basic positions — not a silent barre they cannot reach.
A normal week in ballet & barre classes
Younger classes use creative movement to get in positions. Older classes look quieter and more repetitive — that is technique working. We will let you know if another style (tap, jazz) should wait a session so ballet can stick. Schedule note: Weekday evenings and Saturday mornings in the Harding Blvd studio. Billing: Tuition is automatically billed on the 1st. Classes are not prorated for missed days, holidays, or the two week summer and winter breaks. Disenrollment requires 30 days written notice.
