One prior studio bypassed barre and went to choreography. Melissa has been teaching children's dance since 2005. Placement by age/skill level is written into studio policy – not because a parent asked for it. Citrus Heights families often decide this based on traffic at Sunrise Mall and if 8–12 minutes is worth the week.
Pointe when the body is ready
Pointe prep is built as a later step (we list ages 10+). Strength and placement come first.
Dress code is clear
Leotard, pink tights, slippers, hair up. Buy once; we will not surprise you with a new “required” shoe every month.

A normal week in ballet & barre classes
The younger classes use creative movement to get in those sneaky positions. The older classes look more quiet and repetitive — that's the technique working. Nutcracker casting is a ballet-heavy show. Summer Showcase still has ballet students. Schedule note: Weekday evenings and Saturday mornings in the Harding Blvd studio. Billing: Tuition is automatically billed on the 1st. Classes are not prorated for missed days, holidays, or the two week summer and winter break. Disenrollment requires 30 days written notice.
