Mommy & Me Dance Classes and Auburn
Auburn is on a ridge above I-80. Weeknight downhills are real, but the better drive is Saturday morning (studio hours 9 a.m.–noon) when you are driving from Old Town or the fairgrounds side — downhill, reverse commute, free parking at the door. Auburn (city) has a population of 13,776 (U.S. Census Bureau, 2020 Decennial Census (QuickFacts, population April 1, 2020) ). Parents who are landmarks’ users: Old Town Auburn, Gold Country Fairgrounds, and Auburn Recreation District. If your kid is in high school, it’s Placer High School. For public-school parents, Auburn Union School District and Placer Union High School District are the map frame. Dance as a twice-weekly class for a preschooler is usually an off-campus activity. Driving distance from the Harding Blvd studio is about 15.1 miles; allow 22–25 minutes in normal traffic. Mommy & Me Dance Classes at Tutu: A grownup (or grandparent, dad, nanny — the URL says mommy because that is what people type) and a little kid moving to music together. You are not set down in the lobby. You are the second dancer. Wear: They need clothes they can crawl and spin in. You need shoes you can kneel in. Ballet slippers are optional until they care. Hours: Monday–Thursday 4:00–8:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m.–noon (Friday and Sunday closed). Melissa Reich opened the studio in 2015 and has taught since 2005. Staff bios — including Kima Lee (B.A. Dance, Sacramento State, 2023 Exemplary Student Award) — are on the About page. Shows: The Nutcracker (December; 2026 date TBA); Summer Showcase. A free trial class is available — call 916.276.8408 or use the contact form. Tuition is quoted by phone; we do not publish rates here.

Mommy & Me Dance Classes — what we actually teach
These are the pieces of mommy & me dance classes at the Roseville studio, not a generic style list.
What Auburn parents actually ask before they drive 22–25 minutes
You are not the mom — you are dad or grandma — and every listing says mommy. We make noise. A parent-and-tot class that is quiet is a myth. Auburn families generally choose based on Old Town Auburn traffic and if 22–25 minutes works for the week.
Trial is the point
See if they like the room before you buy slippers and a recital dream.
A bridge off your lap
The goal is not forever-together class. It is enough trust to try preschool dance later.
Grown-up on the floor
This is not drop-off. If you wanted lobby coffee, pick a different age.
Same plaza as the big kids
When they age up, ballet and tap are down the same Harding Blvd hallway.
A normal week in mommy & me dance classes
You will sweat a little. Dress appropriately. Songs you will sing in the car all week. That is success. Schedule note: Daytime and Saturday blocks work better than 6 p.m. for this age. Check before you schedule against bedtime. Billing: Tuition is automatically billed on the 1st. Classes are not pro-rated for missed days, holidays, or the two-week summer and winter breaks. Disenrollment requires 30 days written notice.
