Weeknight I-80 downhill traffic is a reality in Auburn, but Saturday morning (studio hours 9 a.m.–noon) is the less stressful (downhill, reverse commute, free parking at the door) trip from either Old Town or the fairgrounds side of Auburn. Driving: The driving distance from the Harding Blvd studio to the edge of Auburn city limits is about 15.1 miles; plan 22–25 minutes in normal traffic. You have to know who is actually teaching--not some rotating teen assistant. Tutu is a children's studio, not a competition factory. Placement is by age and skill; Melissa Reich has taught since 2005 and trains teachers in early childhood development, not just choreography. Auburn families usually know this by the Old Town Auburn traffic and whether or not 22-25 minutes works for their week.

A normal week in dance classes
Warm up (short), then skills, then a combo. The younger classes (preschool) are more game-and-song; the older classes progress to looking more like a "traditional" technique class. You can observe. We do not go behind closed doors on trial week--no one-way policy on our glass door. Studio class schedule note: Classes are offered Monday–Thursday 4–8 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m.–noon. Jazz is taught weekday evenings only. Billing: Tuition is automatically charged on the 1st of each month. There is no proration for holidays, vacation days missed or for our two weeks summer/winter break. 30 days written notice is required to disenroll.
