Whitney High’s performing-arts pathway is a high-school elective, not a twice-weekly class for a 3-year-old, so the off-campus hunt is real. Families near Sunset Whitney Recreation Area or Quarry Park already use Eureka Road or Douglas Blvd to shop in Roseville; Harding Plaza is on that same westbound hop — about 3.9 miles, 8–10 minutes — not a new freeway to learn. Sierra College is the other landmark: if you already drive there, you are driving past the I-80 exits we use. Dance classes at Tutu are age-grouped ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, or preschool — not one mixed room. Wear depends on style (leotard and slippers for ballet; tap shoes for tap). What Rocklin parents actually ask before they drive 8–10 minutes
It's important to know who is actually teaching (not a roving teen helper). Tutu is a children's studio, not a factory of competitive dancers. Classes are placed by age and skill level; Melissa Reich has been teaching since 2005 and trains teachers in the very important early childhood education, not just dance steps. Rocklin parents often decide this by the traffic in and out of the Sunset Whitney Recreation Area, and if 8–10 minutes is enough in the week.

What ages 2 and up class actually looks like
Recital work appears later in the session – Nutcracker in December, Summer Showcase in the warm months. A short warm-up, then skills, then a combo. Preschool is more game-and-song; older classes begin to look more like a traditional technique class. Schedule note: Studio classes are offered Monday–Thursday 4–8 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m.–noon. Jazz classes are weekday evenings only. Billing: Tuition is automatically billed on the 1st of the month. Classes are not prorated for missed days, holidays or the two week summer and winter breaks. Disenrollment from a class requires 30 days written notice.
