Loomis is still a small town — 6,836 people in 2020 — so there is no full-size children’s dance building on Taylor Road. Families here typically choose between a rec class and a committed studio one freeway exit west. (Loomis (town) reported a population of 6,836 on April 1, 2020, (U.S. Census Bureau, 2020 Decennial Census (QuickFacts, population April 1, 2020)).) The family-friendly landmarks they actually use: Downtown Taylor Road, Loomis Basin, and Horseshoe Bar. (High school: Del Oro High School.) Loomis Union School District (Del Oro High in Placer Union) is the public-school context. As a twice-weekly class for a preschooler, dance is almost always off-campus. Driving distance from the Harding Blvd studio is about 7 miles; allow 12–15 minutes in normal traffic. What Loomis parents actually ask before they drive 12–15 minutes
You need a level that matches a 5 yo who can already tendu, or a 7 yo who cannot. Pre-ballet exists so a 2- or 3-year-old is not standing at a regulation barre for 45 minutes. Loomis families mostly decide this based on DTTR traffic and whether 12–15 minutes fits the week.

Ages 2+ start with creative movement and basic positions — not a silent barre they cannot reach.

What ages 2 and up class actually looks like
We will let you know if another genre (tap, jazz) needs to wait a session for ballet to take hold. The younger level classes use a lot of creative movement to sneak in positions. The older classes should look more silent and more repetitive — that's technique at work. Studio Schedule: Weekday evenings and Saturday mornings in the Harding Blvd studio. Tuition is automatically charged on the 1st of the month. Classes are not pro-rated for holidays, missed days, or the two-week summer/winter vacations. Disenrollment requires 30 days written notice.
